Core Aeration

Perfect Leaf Management’s core aeration service is truly the most environmentally smart way to swiftly get to target areas within the soil. The core aeration process removes thousands of cores of soil from your lawn.

Please beware of companies offering core aeration without a core aerator. Lawns need to be core aerated from soil compaction due to children playing, soil naturally settling, and big heavy mowers. Many companies will use "heavy mowers" attached to a heavy drum mounted with spikes. This, method, of course, continues to compress soil and the spikes only shift the soil. Once it rains soil shifts back. Money is wasted.

Perfect Leaf Management’s core aeration service clears the path for treatments to get directly to targeted areas.

Insects build colonies within the soil for protection from insecticide, to hibernate and to store food.

Weed roots are their survival mechanism and bed themselves deep within the soil.

Grass thins and eventually dies because air does not reach the roots.

Because soil is hard and compact water is unable to penetrate the soil. When soil is too compact for penetration water will remain on top of the lawn. Poor water drainage encourages mosquitoes, weeds and lawn disease to grow rampant.

In this picture, as Perfect Leaf Management aerates, water and air are tunneled to the lawn roots. Notice the dark brown water. The clear water beside the core aerator indicates that this side has not been core aerated.

Lawns should be aerated twice a year to maintain a continuous flow of air, water and nutrients.*
