Soil Test

A soil test (see image) will determine fertility, or the expected growth potential of the soil, indicate nutrient deficiencies, potential toxicities from excessive fertilization and inhibitions from the presence of non-essential trace minerals.

Perfect Leaf Management takes soil samples from your lawn (see image) to determine nutrient and contaminant content, composition, and other characteristics, such as acidity or PH level.

The two most common terms fertilizer and weed control have been hijacked by unlicensed lawn care companies to increase profits. They know little to nothing about landscape treatment procedures.

Keep in mind that fertilizer and weed control are only category names. They are dozens of different fertilizers and a lot more weed control products. Each offer different additives, additives that your lawn may or may not need. It is environmentally proactively smart to only add the additives that will correct the PH levels in your soil. Adding more than required contaminate the ground water beneath your property and our drinking water. Improper application of fertilizer creates excessive grass growth, which increases your mowing time and costs. For these reason it is not a good idea to allow your lawn mowing company to treat your lawn, especially if they are not state certified and agriculture licensed.

Our goal is to protect, enhance and beautify your curb appeal within your budget. Perfect Leaf Management’s signature treatments are customized by an agriculture licensed and state certified technician. Based on your soil samples we will provide an estimated time for lawn recovery.

Universal store fertilizers contain a little of this, that and other. These products may further unbalance your PH levels. Every lawn, even a homeowner’s front lawn PH requirements can be different from their back lawn PH requirements.

It is a big mistake to wait and only feed your lawn in the spring. Lawns should be fed consistently during each of the four seasons to protect against weeds, fungus and lawn disease. Perfect Leaf Management will deactivate any malicious agents within your soil before proceeding with one of our custom treatment programs.

Soil test examination can take up to eight weeks. During that time we will begin weed control applications. Please help protect our environment and only use weed control and fertilizers that your lawn need! We also recommend core aeration, de-thatching, liming, proper watering, proper mowing, proper drainage, Proper PH levels, and avoiding too much shade, grubs and insect control.
