 The best time to mow is two hours before full sun or one hour after full sun sets. 

 Mow every 7 to 10 days to prevent grass damage. 

 Mowers are adjustable up to five (5") inches. If you allow your grass to grow to eight or nine inches or more you will damage the grass. At the beginning of growing season set mower to two (2") inches and then mow. Next time set the mower at three (3") inches, then the next at four (4") until you reach the desired height of five (5”) inches. 

 Bag occasionally to reduce thatch and allow lawn to breathe. 

 Never mow wet grass. It will cause lawn disease. 

 Mow no more than 1/3 grass height. Doing so will severely damage lawn and encourage weed growth.

 Always clean mower and blades. This is the most common way weed seeds travel from property to property! 

 Keep mower blades sharp because it helps maintain an even cut. 

 Always blow noticeable grass clipping off lawn or they will smoother and kill grass. 

 Consider a 22" inch or less lawn mower. Big heavy mowers do more harm than good.

 Lawns should be cut two days before or after lawn treatment or after lawn treatment has dried.
