FAQ

Please feel free to ask us about maintaining a healthy lawn all year round at www.Perfectleafmanagement.com

After Treatment Precautions:
Please do not enter treatment area for twenty-four hours to ensure the area is dry. If you accidently walk on the lawn, be sure to wipe your feet before entering your home. Avoid excessive child play on the lawn as this will compact the soil, preventing air circulation and smothers grass growth providing opportunity for weeds and other pests to flourish.

Appointments & Scheduling
It is very important that you register and request service in its entirety. Please notify us if you have pets and lock them away for our safety and theirs. You are not required to be home. All of our treatments have weather restrictions and understand that a clear sunny day does not mean it is proper weather for your scheduled treatment. To keep confusion to a minimum, we will provide an estimated service date. Please do not wait or expect us to arrive at a certain time of day if we have not made arrangements. You'll find an “After Care” note on your door and a “Lawn Has Been Treated” sign posted in the yard. Please do not enter treatment areas until twenty-four after treatment has dried.

Benefits of a Well-Kempt Yard:
There are three benefits of being proactive about the upkeep of your community.

Benefit 1: Once we revamp your landscape to a beautiful lush green curb appeal you will receive a lot of compliments from your friends, family and neighbors. You also receive a $5.00 reward for every person you refer that becomes a customer

Benefit 2: Property value is partly based on the upkeep of the community as a whole. Are all the lawns mowed regularly and uniformly? Are there lawns within the community with weeds, crab grass and lawn disease? Are trees pruned professionally and are there any perks like flower beds? Are leaves blown and picked up? Are there any curb appeal front entrance attractions. Are foreclosed or unoccupied homes receiving regular lawn treatments? Are there any signs of fire ant mounds that will eventually migrate thru the community? Insurance carriers are reportedly denying claims from fire ant damage to transformer wiring boxes, AC units, circuit breaker boxes and telephone wiring. Repair costs are surging and often deemed avoidable by carriers.

Benefit 3: When you are consistently proactive about the grounds in your community, it is a strong deterrent of crime. Thieves, criminals and burglars look for signs most homeowners don't realize they display with a poorly maintained lawn. The simplest things tell a lot. Empty trash can at the curb after trash day, flyers left on a door for days, lawns that haven’t been mowed in months are signs of neglect, Foreclosed and unoccupied homes with overgrown weeds and untrimmed branches are an open invitation to criminals and tell them no one oversees the upkeep of this community.

Contracts
Q: Do I have to sign a contact?
A: No, but please understand our contracts. They are not lengthy and we have four month, eight month, and annual contracts as well. Contacts have a seven day grace period. Cancelation must be received thirty days prior to next treatment on website at cancel@PerfectLeafManagement.com

Core Aeration
Q: How do I prepare my lawn?
A: All we ask is that home owners make sure debris is picked up before scheduling. We will need to briefly water your lawn to soften the soil. Please let us know whether or not you have a water hose. After completion just remain off lawn for 48 hours. Afterward proceed as normal

Fertilization
Q. What's the difference between professional fertilizer and home-owner grade I can purchase from any retailer?
A: Professional grade products chosen by a licensed state certified technician is designed to meet your lawns PH requirements. PH levels define the nutrients the soil needs as well as what it doesn’t. Having too many nutrients damages lawn worse than not having enough.
A: Home owners grade are manufactured to fit every lawn need, which, as each lawn is unique, is impossible. Every single lawn’s PH levels are different and require different measures. Help protect our environment by hiring a state certified licensed technician

Q: Which fertilizer will Perfect Leaf Management use on my lawn liquid or dry granular?
A: Most times both, unless your project manager recommends otherwise. Granular pebbles activate when watered, slowly releasing fertilizer with each watering. Liquid fertilizer works instantly but needs to be reapplied more often than granular

Q: How often will Perfect Leaf Management feed my lawn?
A: Every 6 to 8 weeks and up to 8 times a year.

Guarantee
Q: What guarantees do you offer?
A: Perfect Leaf Management guarantees that if you follow our instructions on lawn care and lawn maintenance and follow your treatment plan and details you will have a beautiful and healthy lawn free of pests, disease, and weeds!

Q: When should I mow my lawn, before or after treatment?
A: Depends. With a Broadcast treatment service where we spray the ENTIRE lawn, mow one day before or one day after
A: Spot weed treatment: our state certified technician needs to physically see targeted area and mow one day after treatment.

Q: How often should I mow my lawn?
A: lawn should be mowed every 7 - 10 days. Mowing your lawn frequently will naturally smother and kill weeds.

Q: What height should I mow my lawn?
A: Three to four inches. Never cut more than 1/3 grass height each mow. Weeds love low-cut lawns.

Pets
Prevent excessive pet waste on treated lawns. Pet urine will cause yellow spots on your lawn and encourage lawn disease. Pet feces are unsightly and unsanitary when left on the lawn. Maintain your yard by picking up waste and disposing of them properly.

Thatch
Q: What is thatch?
A: Thatch is a combination of many things mostly grass clipping, leaves, decayed insects and other minerals broken down to form a padded layer.

Q: Where is thatch?
A: Thatch is the layer between the soil and your lawn roots.

Q: Is thatch harmful or helpful to my lawn?
A: Keeping thatch below one inch causes no harm. Thatch above one inch blocks air, water and nutrients from reaching the roots. Lawn then thins and begins to die. Insects build mounds inside of thatch.

Q: How do I keep thatch to a minimum?
A: The majority of thatch comes from grass clippings. Grass clippings are a source of fertilizer but Perfect Leaf Management programs will deliver all the nutrients your lawn needs and more. Use a push mower with a bag to collect the grass clippings. Blow leaves in the fall and if you mow leaves in the fall use a mower bag. Clean debris and pick up dead insects before they decay. Cores aerate twice a year to greatly reduce the harmful effects of thatch.

Landscape damages are often similar. It is best to consult agriculture licensed technician preferable one at Perfect Leaf Management. Our technicians specialize in creating a vigorous, healthy and growing environment for your ornamentals, turf and trees.

Watering
Q: Should I Water before or after treatment?
A: No. Whether dry or liquid treatment continue watering as normal, following instructions above.
A: Yes: If granular/pebbles treatment, watering is needed to activate granular pebbles. Lawn should be watered within twenty four hours. Be sure not to over water. Over watering will cause run off of treatment to sidewalk. Our custom granular applications are slow release. As you water nutrients are gradually released and feed the lawn.

Weeds
Q: How long will it take these weeds to be completely gone?
A: it depends on the condition of your lawn. Do you keep your lawn mown regularly? Do not miss a lawn treatment and work with us to keep your lawn healthy. We will offer you an aggressive weed treatment program or a gradual weed cure program. You decide which route to take.

Q: What are these yellow spots with my lawn?
A: Dying weeds turn yellow as they die. Grass will grow and yellow will vanish.

Q: Once all the weeds are gone can I stop with my program?
A: No, Weeds are a continually invading plant. Weed seeds are transported by lawn mowers, bottom of shoes and rakes. Weed seeds germinate as seasons transition. There are summer weeds, spring weeds, fall weeds and winter weeds. Weed prevention treatments must be applied four times annually
